On the afternoon of September 21st, the opening ceremony for 2017 Freshmen of IFAS was held at room 501, Jiageng building #2. Dean & Prof. Ye Jianming, Former Dean & Prof. Qu Xiaohui, Associate Dean Hu Jinshuai, Vice Chairman of the School Party Committee Mr. Li Feng, other IFAS faculty members as well as 2016 student representatives attended the ceremony.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Associate Dean Hu Jinshuai. At the ceremony, Dean Ye extended a warm welcome to all 2017 freshmen, then he briefly introduced the academic environment, international atmosphere and teaching style of IFAS, he also talked about how to promote the communication between domestic students and international students in order to create a better learning atmosphere.Finally, Professor Ye wished all freshmen a bright future.
Then, Vice Chairman of the School Party Committee Mr. Li Feng Li Feng gave a concise orientation of organizations and life in IFAS. He stressed that the Student Union of IFAS will be recognized by the university from this year, and wishes happy lives to all new students in IFAS.
Professor Yu Xiao’ou, as a representative teacher, shared his own experience learning abroad to all students and encouraged domestic students to communicate more with international students. He also put forward some suggestions on how to carry out study and academic research more efficiently in postgraduate stage.
Later, Associate Dean Hu, elaborated the growth track as well as the reputations of IFAS. He gave an introduction of faculties, academic resources and international exchange programs of our institute. He stressed that we focused on frontier research of Accounting and Finance, he hopes that all students can adapt to the academic atmosphere here.
2016 students representatives Huang Jiajing and Prince also share their own feelings and experience upon their one year study here. Sun Tianxiang, on behalf of freshmen, finally expressed his vision for future life in IFAS.
Finally, all attendees took photos together to memorize the opening ceremony.
