2026 Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance Symposium (International)
Call for Papers
June 5-7, 2026, Xiamen, China
The 2026 Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance Symposium (International) will be held on June 5-7, 2026 in Xiamen, hosted by School of Management, Institute for Financial & Accounting Studies, and Center for Accounting Studies, Xiamen University, China. The Symposium invites submissions of high-quality research, addressing cutting-edge research topics in the areas of (1) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning, (2) Big Data, and (3) Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). Submissions employing novel research methods or data will be particularly welcomed.
Relevant topics for this Symposium include (but are not limited to):
- Impact of AI, Deep Learning, and Big Data on capital market participants and non-capital-market stakeholders
- Challenges and opportunities that AI, Deep Learning, and Big Data introduce for financial reporting
- Use of emerging AI and Deep Learning technologies and Big Data in our field of research
- Environmental and social disclosures
- Incentives and economic consequences of ESG reporting activities
- How capital market participants and non-capital-market stakeholders collect, process, and produce ESG-related information
There is a $50 fee for each submitted paper. You can use debit card, credit card or PayPal to pay the submission fee through this link. If you encounter any difficulty, please contact jaaf2026@xmu.edu.cn. When you submit your paper, the submission fee Transaction ID should be provided. Note that there will be a $250 registration fee when you present or attend the symposium. The submission deadline is February 15, 2026.
Authors should submit only full papers (i.e., complete scholarly research projects that could reasonably be submitted to a public working paper database such as SSRN). Proposals will not be accepted. There is no specific manuscript format and no page limit, but papers should generally not exceed 50 pages. Presenters of accepted papers must register as symposium participants.
Submission procedures and rules
Papers submissions should be emailed to jaaf2026@xmu.edu.cn. We will match your paper submission with the paid submission fee.
In the subject of the email, authors should indicate that the submission is for the 2026 JAAF Symposium (International). Two files should be submitted as attachments to the email:
- The title page that includes the title, author names, affiliations, keywords, and any acknowledgements;
- The main manuscript that includes an abstract and no information of the authors.
Paper sessions
This Symposium will include plenary and concurrent sessions. Papers accepted by the plenary section, if the authors agree, will be reviewed under the fast track for publication in JAAF with the ultimate editorial decision to be determined according to JAAF's policies. Accepted plenary papers need to be submitted to JAAF by September 7, 2026 for a fast track consideration. However, submission to JAAF is not mandatory. Papers not accepted can still be submitted to JAAF as regular submissions. All papers accepted by plenary and concurrent sessions will be presented on June 5 or 6, 2026.
Professors C.S. Agnes Cheng, Jinshuai Hu, and Rong Huang (Symposium editors), in consultation with Professor Xiao-Jun Zhang (JAAF Editor-in-Chief), will select papers to be included in the Symposium. There will be a Best Paper Award for papers presented at the Symposium.
Paper acceptance decisions will be made by March 15, 2026.
