Graceful Farewell, Bright Beginnings— 2026 Graduation Party Held Successfully

On the evening of May 23, 2026, the Student Union of the Institute for Financial and Accounting Studies held the 2026 graduation party. The event was attended by Chen Wen, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Management; Hu Jinshuai, Vice Dean of the Institute for Financial and Accounting Studies; Liu Qun, Deputy Communist Youth League Secretary of the School of Management; Chen Yimei, Counselor of the School of Management; and teachers from the Institute for Financial & Accounting, namely Li Maoliang, Hou Fangfang, Li Wanyun, Che Yixing, Jia Yifan, Chen Huixia and Zhou Zixuan.

Amid warm applause, hosts Wang Luyi and Daniel took the stage and extended sincere congratulations to the graduates. The graduation party officially began.

First, Chen Wen, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Management delivered remarks. Secretary Chen expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and offered them several pieces of advice: First, he encouraged students to care about the nation and society. He hoped they would connect their personal ambitions with the country's needs and realize their value by serving society and the people. Second, he urged them to remain practical and persistent, carrying forward the rigorous and down-to-earth spirit of IFAS students and achieving success through professionalism and hard work. Third, he encouraged graduates to be courageous and responsible, never shying away from difficulties or challenges, and striving to make meaningful achievements in their respective fields. Finally, he emphasized that their alma mater would always be a warm harbor and that IFAS would forever be their home.

Next, Hu Jinshuai, Vice Dean of the Institute of Financial Management and Accounting, delivered an address. Dean Hu first extended good wishes to the graduates, noting that graduation marks the end of the student life but also the beginning of a new journey. Dean Hu also mentioned that the achievements the graduates have made now are inseparable from the care of their families and the love of society. Therefore, everyone needs to remain kind and grateful, helping those around them and giving back to their families and society.

Immediately following was a speech by Hou Fangfang, the teacher representative. She told domestic graduates that graduation is not a closing of accounts,” but rather the transfer of “undistributed profits” into a brand-new account for the future. She encouraged everyone to spend their lives proving their own “fair value.” To the international graduates, she expressed gratitude for the diverse perspectives they had brought across mountains and seas, and reminded them that Xiamen University would always be their home.

Afterwards, Deputy Communist Youth League Secretary of the School of Management Liu Qun also took the stage to offer his blessings to the graduates. He promised that no matter how many years passed after graduation, as long as the students wish to return, they would meet again someday. He concluded by wishing everyone a joyful evening and precious memories to carry into the future.

Finally, Li Bohan, the graduate representative, gave a speech. He recalled the wonderful time spent at IFAS and expressed gratitude for the teachers' care and the college's education. And he concluded by wishing all graduates a bright and successful future ahead.

After dinner, the party officially entered the performance session. Third-year graduate students opened the performance segment with a chorus of Chaser of Light. Filled with memories of youthful dreams, the song also conveyed graduates hopes and expectations for the future.

Li Bohan then performed a solo performance of “Butterfly. His heartfelt and delicate singing deeply moved the audience and won enthusiastic applause. Afterwards, first-year students performed The Brightest Star in the Night Sky. The familiar melody resonated with everyone present as students waved glowing star lights in their hands, immersing themselves in a night filled with youthful memories.

Next, members of the Graduate Student Union presented the chorus Our Tomorrow. Their energetic singing expressed both heartfelt blessings for the graduating students and the vitality of their own generation.

The event then moved into an impromptu performance session. Zhou Shiqi and Zhou Xi first performed Taylor Swift’s classic song 22, whose lively rhythm quickly energized the atmosphere. Li Bohan followed with Hill, delivering an emotional performance filled with reflections on the passage of time. International student Peter Kekeli Dzokoto then sang Lean on Me. Kumar Ashish and Peter Samwel Philopo performed the dance Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja, and their energetic dance moves with strong exotic flair drawing continuous applause and cheers from the audience.

Kumar Ashish later returned to the stage to sing the classic Chinese song Friends. Afterwards, Fabeea Aabeed Zaman performed My Heart Will Go On, captivating the audience with her moving voice. Zhou Shiqi and Zhou Xi then performed Satisfied from the musical Hamilton. Their strong chemistry and expressive singing earned rounds of applause. Finally, Zhuo Ye and Huang Jinni performed Mayday’s Song of Forgetting, bringing the impromptu performance session to a close.

The event then entered the interactive game session. During the “Passing the Parcel” game, students and teachers took turns sharing their most unforgettable memories at IFAS, the people they wished to thank most, and the words they most wanted to say. These sincere stories brought back many shared memories of campus life.

After the games, under the witness of all teachers and students, Hu Jinshuai, Vice Dean of IFAS, cut the graduation cake for the graduates. May this sweetness and sense of fulfillment accompany them as they embark on a new chapter in life.

At the end of the event, all faculty members and graduates gathered for a group photo, bringing the unforgettable graduation gala to a close. As the phoenix flowers bloom and the farewell song softly echoes, the youthful years shared at IFAS will remain treasured memories in the hearts of the graduates. May the Class of 2026 carry forward the growth, courage, and determination gained at IFAS as they continue confidently on their future journeys.
